No, it will not fry your CPU. There may be isolated cases, but that's all they are. Isolated.

600W and below are the scary guys. You're fine. If it can be returned then it would be worth your time to return it however.

They are not great, but they are not explosive. And, judging by your system specs you are not pushing hard on them, you are fine.

IIRC it's a rebadged TX unit which was the predecessor to the HX so it's fine - not gonna break anything but I would avoid OCs.

It's a rebadged GS-series that was a mediocre performer and is overpriced.

Then what was the rebadged TX?

Though for the record, during Jonny's review of the unit, it overheated in the hot box and shut down during a full load. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=416

Damn I guess ill just use it moderately until i can afford a new unit

you are using about 400W at max load - no need to worry - just make sure airflow is decent.

+ It shut down during the test - it didn't blow up in a ball of flames.

It will be fine. Just disable the C-states in the BIOS.

I have used it in 2 build and it is pretty decent, certainly hasn't fried my cpu.

I run my own indie game company called Color Dragon Studios where we are currently making a 2d platformer game called Small Earth.

C states don't really change anything - the CX are compatible with them.

Consider the one I'm using then - was about 100$ on Newegg and it's got everything you'd need - only downside is it's not modular - else it's fine - 4x6+2 pin power connectors and everything.

No good reason to be scared.. You'll be fine. How long have you had that CX PSU now?
