nVidia long overdue for a new Dual GPU card?

Guest

Alright, Don't you guys think nVidia is a bit overdue for another dual GPU? the last one they released was the Titan Z, before that the 690, and so on, Aren't they due to release a new one for the 900 series? 990 perhaps? A new Titan? What do you guys think? Do any of you have some information that I don't?

I'd like to see a 990 be released, though I'd want it to be 2x 980tis instead of 2x 980s..

Maybe a 990 and 990ti? lol

If nVidia is going to charge outrageous charging like the Titan Z then nobody will buy it.

The 295X2 costed 1.5K, the Titan Z costed 3K....

Who would pay that much when the 295X2 is half the price and still has better/similar performance.

If the 295 and the 590 and 690 are anything to go off of, it'll output more heat than a Fury X2 and consume about as much power as one while at it.

Power sonsumption is the same as heat output on GPUs(ignoring small losses like fans and LEDs).

I'd guess somewhere around $1200-1500 for a 990 (2x 980s)

Rather buy 2 580 Classfieds instead of a 590 anyway as they still take a lot of power.

Why would nVidia release a card that would beat their Titan X at a lower price difference.

You said 1200-1300

200-300 price difference less than a 980 yet if put in SLI then it would beat the Titan X.

Not to mention, it costs like 1100-1200 for a Titan X in some countries.

for a 990, *If thats what they call it* Two 980's could easily beat the Titan X, and it better for about 140 dollars more

not to mention two 980Ti's would cost some 1,400 from some vendors *cough cough Zotac*

I said $1200-1500, not $1200-1300.

And this is in USD, ofc the price would be different for other currencies and countries.

The price difference is still negligible even with a card that can beat the Titan X.

The 590 was 700, the 690 was 1K.

The 580 launched at $499, the 590 launched at $699

The 680 launched at $499, the 690 launched at $999

The 980 launched at $549, I'd guess that if the 990 happens, it will launch at roughly $1299, maybe $1399.
