Its just mastercard. While socials can't legally be used as a means of identification, banks and doctors still use them for identification. I'd just suck it up and hand it over, it's not like mastercard are going to do anything w/ it. 

It's not like you're alone on giving your social to companies you thought didn't need it. Had to input my social to valve because so much money had gone through my account, that it needed to be listed on my taxes... It was either that, or never use the market, add money to my wallet, or buy games on steam again.

The same company I've gotten prepaid cards with. I had to give them my SSN.

 

Not that I really care, I don't have an identity worth stealing so.....meh (if someone does, enjoy bad credit an $00.00 from my non existent bank account.)

So about that pre-loaded card yesterday? I decided to nab mastercard greendot debit card. Now the fucking problem is that it wants to register the card however it wants my social security number. And I don't want to fuck with that so now am in a bind because I want to refund it however I have to I guess activate the card which I don't want to do.

 

Now am out of 125$ so am shitting in dispair right now so I have no fucking idea what to do! Do you think I could run back to the 7-11 store which I purchased it from and get a refund that way ?  All the phone numbers just give me bullshit automated messages and I can't simply fucking contact a single goddamn soul for no reason!

 

Do you guys have anyway of asking or speaking to a human being to greendot?

When i worked in retail I know there were absolutley no refunds on this type of card But might as well try to fight it if your going to be out the 125 anyway, Maybe Greendot can refund it with a check or something in the mail also if the store cant do anything
