Who Uses NVIDIA Shadowplay?

It drops frames like a bitch. Would not use to record. (using a Seagate barracuda thats got 170gb free space of 3tb, records higher settings in OBS fine but shadowplay gets rekt and will drop to 1-2fps pretty quickly)

I do, mostly to show friends stuff. I like it, extremely lightweight. Only streaming really.

Not when I can use Quicksync or the extra 4 threads on my laptop. OBS is better imo if you have the extra power to spare for encoding.

I keep it set for manual recording. Shadow recording seemed to show a noticeable (though minor) FPS drop that I wasn't too psyched about.

If youre using a nvidia GPU, NVEC encoding has an unnoticeable performance impact.

Only as an FPS counter. Never bothered with the recording side of things.

You sure about that?, mine always saves in MP4.

It uses h.264 I don't see why it would save in MKV.

I use manual mode, without the pre-recording, just a hotkey to enable it, and again to disable/save the file.

Not noticed ANY performance drops more than 1fps.

I love shadowplay.

Settings are "In game Resolution" @ 60fps @ 50Mbit and all my editing programs recognize the files fine.

Absolutely love it!

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

it saved it in MKV for a month, i went back and saw, half of them are MKV and the rest are H264. idk if they did that in an Update.

That's weird, hell, I don't even know why it would save the files as h.264, try changing the quality manually.

As far as I know, it has always saved in MP4 for me.

I use the hardware in combination with OBS, and I've found that works probably the best, especially with the fact that shadowplay breaks Premiere often due to variable FPS.
