What 1000W PSU

Hikaru12

I'm planning on running a full WC loop, 4790k (like to overclock to about 4.4-4.5) and run two EVGA 980TI SC ACX 2.0 (will be putting these under water) so it looks like I need at least a 1,000W PSU to cut it.

I haven't been keeping up with reviews. What's the best *fully modular* 1000W PSU? Budget is $300. Thanks!

Eh, two 980tis will work under 850W. EVGA 850W GS should do ya nicely.

EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G2. If your overclocking id go for the 1000w as I feel 850 will be cutting it close.

I appreciate the input for the 850W. Currently, I own a Seasonic 850W which is top tier. One of the best PSUs I've owned but I feel when if I'm overclocking the chip and both PSUs it would cutting it a little close. Thanks for the suggestions guys! I think I'm going to go with the EVGA!

Even with WC gear? I've done some calculations with a sample 1.3V on the chip and it came out to about 950W or so. Ideally, I'd like to keep the same PSU as I have a small case and it's about 180mm while the EVGA is 200mm.

I mean, it's just a pump and fans.

They add 50w tops (usually)

Alright, I'll give this a try. The stock OCs on the cards should be fine for now. Otherwise, will upgrade to the EVGA. Thanks for the input.

yeah, like many said you're totally fine. We can call in good 'ol @Aniallation if you want even more proof :P

But yeah, two 980tis is perfect on 850W, even when overclocked.

^ yep.

850W is the sweet spot. However there's definitely no harm in going for a 1000W if you can afford it.
