Which GTX 980 Ti is the best

Spookydoge

Which 980 ti is the best? I will be overclocking it to around 1500Mhz. I have been looking at the Gigabyte G1, Asus Strix, MSI Gaming 6GB and Zotac amp! extreme. Of the three the Asus card probably looks the best with my build but I will still pick performance > looks. Then there is also that MSI lightning card that is coming out (i dont remember the name). Should I wait for it?

Any support is appreciated   :)

if i recall correctly the gigabyte one has like a 600 watt capable cooler on it.

which means it'll have more cooling headroom => better overclocking, and quieter under load.

gigabyte G1 and Zotacs amp extreame are the best ones

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Well do not get the ASUS Strix, it has the worst cooler and is quite loud, also ASUSs customer support is terrible at the moment. I would get the EVGA Classified, Gigabyte Gaming G1, MSI G6 or MSI Lightning

It depends on your budget for the GPU

Also do not get the Zotac GPU

What is your budget

If you are thinking about the KPN's $850 dollar price point it may be a little pricy though if it is a lot better then I may get it

The 980 TI Kingpin is the best, it has the best cooler & most overclocking headroom, as well as the most features. It's also the only 980 TI on the market with Samsung VRAM. If you have any experience or know anyone with experience with maxwell cards, you'll know Samsung VRAM on maxwell cards is the best hands down.

But, it's price to performance is quite poor, so you're better off getting a G1 / Classified / Strix.

Why not the Zotac?

They use bad power delivery and they do not use the best components in it.

Why not the Zotac?

Because he dont know what he´s talking about. Zotac use the same Parts like Sapphire. Everything is fine with this Brand.

Not really, that is why it is always so cheap, they are not the top tier of aftermarket GPUs, that goes to EVGA Classified, MSI Gaming G6 and Gigabyte G1 because the Zotac GPUs are a more mid tier, they are good for a budget but not for performance and quality components
