980 or 980 ti?

I have now around 550€ and since school is about to start I was going to buy a new gpu (g1 980). But I was also thinking since its school I'm not going to be using my computer that often to wait until I can afford g1 980 ti?

Or maybe longer until the next generation comes out in the end winter?

G1 Gaming version of the 980Ti is the best you can get.

Anyway, get the 980Ti, it might be expensive but it's way better in terms of price/performance than the 980 itself.

Depends on what monitor you have. 1080p then go 980.

 

1440p it kind of depends on what games you play.

 

I went with a gigabyte g1 980 and don't regret it, but I got mine for 400 USD new on ebay. For the usual 500 going price it gets to be a little tougher decision.

980Ti is way faster than the 980. Easy choice here.

Spend as much as you can actually afford. They offer very similar price to performance at 1440p with the 980 walking away with 1080p and the 980 ti running away with 4k. (At current us prices of ~490-510 usd and 670-700 usd respectively)
