Hello,

Greetings,

I am getting extremely low FPS in BF-4 since I did a fresh windows 8 install.Previously I was fine (still not satisfied) but now things are pretty serious. My FPS drops down to around 40-50 during explosions and stuff. While some of my friends that have equivalent, bit better or worse specs than me get MUCH higher frame rates.

My specs -

FX 6300 OC - 4.5 GHZ 1.4 volts

R9 270X OC 1140 MHZ 1.3 volts

PSU - VS 650

MOBO - Gigabyte 78-LMT

Temps -

CPU - Under 60°C

GPU - Under 80°C

Settings -

Lowest 1080p

Driver -

Catalyst 15.7.1 (Also tried 15.2 and 14.9)

My FPS-

Max - 120

Min - 40

Avg - 60

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friend's specs

FX 6300 Stock

HD 7770 Stock

Friend's settings -

1080p Lowest

Friend's driver

15.7.1

Friends FPS

Min 80

I have updated EVERYTHING related and still I have no difference in FPS.

Please help.

Thank you

Step 1: Go to test range, check your FPS there

Step 2: Go to full 64 player server, check your FPS there

Step 3: Go to empty server with 5 players, check your FPS there

Congratulations, you are now CPU bottlenecked (my cpu sucks too :()

40-60FPS on a 270x is to be expected. That sounds entirely normal to me, if we're being honest.

Well then explain how a inferior system can bet me in my FPS? I obviously have something wrong with my PC,also I was getting better FPS before the fresh windows install.

Just a side note, I'd recommend you to get a better PSU ;)

I'm getting 75-80FPS on my GTX 970 in Battlefield 4, also running an FX-6300. Don't expect your 270x to be a godlike card, especially when paired with a mediocre CPU.

Sir,My current PSU is already overkill and you suggest me to buy a higher wattage???

Not higher wattage. It's about safety. That PSU is not 80+ rated. And lots of other stuff that I don't feel like mentioning.

If there was a bottleneck, he should still get more then a 7770, if there was a bottleneck, he wouldn't be hitting 270x performance,  but he should still be better then 7770 :/

My quite old i5 760 at 4.0Ghz still can't handle Battlefield 4 64 players... will need to upgrade soon.

It is not 80+ rated as it is a VS (value select) and getting that rating involves a small fee which will drive up the cost. But corsair says it is 80+ and well I believe them.
