i saving up funds to buy a pc and was wondering is a single gtx 980 ti enough for gaming (battlefield 4/3, battlefront, skyrim modded, dolphin emulator, some upcoming games )at 1440p 144hz to avoid sli scaling issues and be able to have it in a itx case

@TheConverter has a single 980 Ti + 1440p 144Hz, he would know.

I would say it depends on how good you want it to look. one 980Ti won't do it for you for the next 2-3 years unless you keep textures waaaay the fuck down.

With my Fury X, non overclocked maxed settings on my 1440p I get 13-25 fps on AAA titles.

Now that's quite low and I'd expect higher results from anything else + the 980 is a bit stronger + if OC.

Let me look into my crystal ball:

I see Lord Gaben face and he whispers into my ear:

"Buy one 980Ti, sell it before Pascal comes out, buy two Pascal cards. If you do that, I will release Half Life 3."

We don't know :(

Maybe we will see it at Computex 2016 or E3 2016? Or even Gamescom? Don't expect anything sooner then next summer :(

My biggest hype is that Pascal has proper HBM V2 and hopefully Displayport 1.3 for finally 4K 120hz monitors!!!
