So I wanted to see how you guys would spend 2000 USD for a gaming pc. Only conditions is having to be able to play at least GTA 5 at high settings 60fps+.

Preferably above 1080p.

Nvidia is preferred as well, but doesn't really matter. If you can the color scheme is red,black/red,red/black. As long as the colors have red and/or black on them.

Final note: S&H and tax does not go towards the 2000 USD. Go nuts guys  :D

Main reason why I'm doing this is because I wanted to see what you guys would do and maybe give me some ideas to change my build around. My build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NdH7jX (warning, that build is compiled by a noob, me)

EDIT: If not clear, I want to see what you would build with a 2000 USD budget

I went over.

I decided on going with a normal GTX 980 over a 980 Ti, because a normal 980 should be plenty enough for 1440p gaming. I coupled it with a 1440p IPS G-Sync monitor, which will make it feel much smoother than just having a 980 Ti and a non-G-Sync monitor. I stuck to your color scheme (even though it cost me extra to do so) so it should look aesthetically pleasing to you. Feel free to swap that red case out with something less... vibrant.

Good luck on your build.

I believe he needs a monitor to be included with that list... thats why we make it expensive.

This fairly close to a build im currently working on except the gpu is a gigbyte 980 4gb g1, and i only have 16 gb of ram, and the power supply is a 750w instead of a 1000w.

I'd also like to note that, yes i know you dont need a 1000w psu for this build, but i could'nt find the 750 on pc part picker of the same type so i when with that instead^^

*EDIT* ummmm, soooo im a newb on making neat and working forum post, and dont know how to make those links work. ^~^

good point, I always buy peripherals on a sep budget.

Even on a budget? what am I sayin I dont even put a budget on those things

Yeah, if he were ignoring a monitor, i would probably do a build that looks like this:

Motherboard: MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($179.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card  ($634.99 @ Amazon)

That HyperX Predator has the exact same 19nm Toshiba NAND and Marvell controller as the Plextor M6e, except the Controller is newer, and is slightly faster. For a consumer grade SSD, it is one of the fastest you can get for the price. Faster than the Samsung 850 Pro in all benches, and on the heels of the Samsung SM951. 980 Ti would be overkill for 1440p, and the 6700k is not a requirement for gaming, but if one already had a monitor, and was looking to spend $2000, might as well do it.

All of that, while still sticking to the black/red theme requested by OP. Not a bad build.

Add a couple of Red/Black fans for the H105 and the Phanteks 1m LED strip to finish it off. I would also add some Cablemod Red/Black cables but that would take it over budget.

Wow thanks a lot guys. Saw a lot of differences in builds. To answer some questions, monitor I can always by saving up. It'll take me time to build anyways with school about to start. Other aesthetics and peripherals I can buy along with the monitor. The resolution I want to game is above 1080p so 1440p+. I'm sure you guys would understand where I'm coming from for wanting very good graphics and fps, just google swtor very low graphics. I had to see that and play that for a while and I barely get 30FPS

Looks pretty nice. I'm seeing a lot of people using 1TB HDD. I might use up all that quickly. I have quite a bit of game that I want to play. Thanks for your input!

Changed the capacity of the HDD, forgot the OS, added that. but had to change the monitor. It's a 1920x1200 16:10.
