Anyone been to CompUSA?

I used to go to CompUSA a few times a year, I barely remembered them until today. The laptop I bought from there is being sold and I was trying to figure out where I bought it. Too bad they closed. I remember walking in and they had a decked out Thermaltake Level 10 (not the GT) back when that case was new. It was coolest thing a 11 year old like me could have seen, especially since I was still into computers back then.

Yeah, now all i have is best buy...... at least i can price match to amazon for what little they have.

The reason I go to Best Buy is to try out something before I go back home and order it from Newegg.

Yeah, the only reason I would ever go to Best Buy is to get the Nvidia brand GTX 980 since it's 'Best Buy exclusive'.

Unfortunately I had to buy my HP Spectre X360 from Best Buy since it's a 'Best Buy exclusive' item. It's a great Ultrabook though. Best I have ever owned.

Yeah, there are a couple things at Best Buy worth buying but the rest of them should be ordered from Newegg. I think the only thing I would buy from Best Buy is that 'exclusive' Nvidia brand GTX 980.

I got my 970 from best buy too.

Had a 3 month old $50 best buy gift card and they were selling it in store for $330..... $280 970 was such a steal.

That's what you pay for a used card, and even used that's a good deal.

CompUSA... wow... haven't thought about them in years. Last time I walked through their store was in 1997.

Haha, yeah. The last I walked in was when the Thermaltake Level 10 was almost still a concept, and still costed like a grand. That's the most vivid thing I remember from there, and that happened when I was like 10 or 11. Lol this was back when Thermaltake actually made good products!

They were a brick and mortar store, like a combo of Micro Center and Best Buy. They ran off of TigerDirect.com, I guess they got bought out or something, the same happened with Circuit City.

My family bought our first Compudyne PC from CompUSA. Had to be 1992-93. The last one in my area closed in the later 2000's.

Last I remember of them was back in like '06 or '08.
