Is that the date for the UK? Does that mean the US will be getting it in October?

Yeah, we got Overclockers at 30 September and Scan for 9 October, I am not sure which one is correct at the moment.

That's what I'm sayin

That never works out in computer components, if that was correct, the GTX 980ti Kingpin would be like £600 here in the UK, the Classified is £620 so that would not be possible

Man a whole extra month...hopefully they stay true to their $1,300 asking price. I'm hoping someone posts a member review as TFT will probably take a week or so before they release theirs. Would like to know if they got their QC in check by pushing it back or if there was some other reason for the delay.

To be honest I wouldn't place any bets on what anyone of these companies tell us, because it seems people within the company really don't have a clue either, this is what I found out after asking around:

I contacted Scan and asked them if it was still on track for a late August release, and I explained what Acer UK had said about the release date being pushed back to October.

The next day I got a reply saying,

Then later that date they said,

I haven't seen any change on the website though for pre order dates, so this isn't confirmed either, it's just what I was told when emailing.

Here is a screenshot of the email:

uhpjVEX.png

It looks like scan set the date to the 9th of October just to be safe

I just realized something.... if you have something like a 980ti 6gb, you can DSR it up to 6880x2880 supersampling resolution...  people are apparently doing this; might not look what real 6880x2880 would look like, but im guessing it might just get close to what real 5120x2160 could be like.

In terms or processing tho - forget the latest games on that res tho, its for source games / that era games only... and you still get 100hz with gsync on it xD

Is that 100 hz overclocked G-Sync module/refresh rate?  I'm a little concerned because I understand some of the issues of the ROG Swift pg278q were due to an overclocked G-sync module.   How will it fare over the long term?

They're using a new version of their gsync module in the acer x34. Doesnt necessarily mean it'll work better... but theres a chance it could...

It would certainly be wise to wait until these are out in the wild before pulling the trigger. An absolute nightmare awaits if Acer are QC'ing this monitor the same way as they did the XB270HU. At this price point it needs to be perfect!

Along with their warranty - There has to be 16 dead pixels before you can return that monitor. It really sucks that a company like dell don't make a display like this

Yeah it's insane. Not that anyone in their right mind would keep a monitor with 16 dead pixels anyway... but that's why I'd rather buy this from Amazon, as they won't argue if you're not happy with it. It does surprise me Dell or even Samsung aren't seeing the opportunity here... they can't not be looking at what Acer are doing and not KNOW they could do a million times better!!

Yeah, that's why I got a U3415W. It's only 60Hz, but it's a Dell display so you KNOW it's going to be good. They also have response times way lower than they rate it at. ASUS is the next best company, imo, but I still wish Dell made gaming monitors...

ASUS is becoming terrible at making monitors and GPUs now, they have so many QC problems and their new Strix GPU is one of the worst aftermarket GPUs at the moment. Also their customer service is becoming worse as well

Well, I was only talking about monitors. I've never liked their GPUs, but I love their Mobos. Never had an issue with their CS!

The RoG Swift and RoG Dominator has so many problems, also their Motherboards are the only thing they can actually make now.

Be fair, both those monitors were SO FAR AHEAD of anyone else at the time that they would obviously have problems. Look at Acer's XBK, it has so many issues, and alot aren't even from QC. Some are, obviously, but most aren't.

Asus makes the best SATA cables. Js.

How far will it be until we get a good monitor with this kind of spec?

Any guesses?
