Sonos Play: 3 Help

Okay so I'm moving into a dorm and I want to use my Sonos speaker with my phone but not over wifi so is it possible to adapt the ethernet, the only port on the back, to a 3.5mm audio jack and have it carry sound?

Really though? I know ethernet can carry audio in some capacity. And if not, what is this for?

don't think the sonos is meant to receive audio over Ethernet (well it is, but not anoloug audio)

 

That appears to be used to use an Ethernet cable as a 3.5mm extension cable

the Ethernet just acts as a basic cable their.

Well, you could probably get a USB OTG cable then a USB to ethernet adapter, and use that. I don't know 100% if that would work though...
