New Laptop ($500-$600)

LinusLoveMe

I need 8gb ram, Windows 8.1 + upgrade to 10 or just Windows 10, preferably a screen size of 14-15", relatively light since I'll be carrying it around a lot, and a durable build quality. Backlighted keys would be great, but obviously not a requirement given my budget. 500gb is the most I'll ever use when it comes to hard drive space, but a 256gb drive would work just fine as well. Considering I've had my current laptop since 2012 and have only used 120 out of the 256gb (including the space windows takes up)...

What will the laptop be used for?

Programming, some use in adobe applications, a lot of web use. Nothing too intensive I mostly just need something portable, and reliable. I don't need an ultrabook, but I guess I'm not opposed to that route.
