Has development for LGA 1150 ceased?

Since the LGA 1151 socket has come out, Do you think the 4790K will remain the pinnacle of LGA 1150 and Intel has stopped developing new chips for the socket?

 

(I'm considering a bit of an upgrade (not immediately, mind) and I have room in the budget for the move to 1151 as a sort of future proofing measure, as it looks to be essentially a replacement of 1150)

Broadwell is still coming on LGA1150 I think at some point in the future.

There isn't a lot of reasons to upgrade to 1151 from 1150.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

I think broadwell will lead only to increase in integrated graphix power, and then the socket will be left without upgrade path. So for anyone getting a new PC I'd suggest 1151 socket mobo.

 

But upgrade from 1150 to 1151 doesn't make sense right now.

Development of 1150, yea pretty much.  Production of 1150, not quite yet!

Broadwell is already out but it's not worth it if you have a dedicated graphics card.

Im pretty sure they are still making boradwell CPUS

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?
