Just sold FX-6300 on EBAY! Moving to Intel

HI! I've had an FX-6300 since Christmas and it hasn't disappointed me. It is a bottleneck to my GTX 970 though which is annoying. When I got the FX-6300 I didn't know I was going to be getting a 970. I just got confirmation from Ebay that my FX-6300, Sabertooth 990fx, and Hyper 212 EVO sold for $240. Not bad, just enough to get an i5-4460 and h97 motherboard :) What do you guys think? I'm going to try and ship everything out tomorrow. Will it be worth the time I'm going to spend without a computer? (About a week probably)

 

Also, I have to ship the motherboard with a hyper 212 EVO... UGH. Any tips on the best way to do that? I listed it as pre-assembled so I can ship the cooler seperately. I'm going to use 3 different ESD bags (one cut to go around the cooler) to cover the whole thing, and wrap it in bubblewrap the best I can. Any Ideas? Thanks! I'll be posting a review of my experience moving to Intel once I'm able to get my new components setup

well you can put it into a massive antistatic bag and put that into a big box, put the mobobox etc beside it and fill it up with foam material.

And you've got a very well balanced rig that is a far better all-rounder. Though if you end up wanting to overclock-hope like hell you can find an i7 4790k and a decent Z97 motherboard.

My system for that is, cut a slit in one ESD bag then put that on, the slit allowing space for the cooler. Putting another ESD over the cooler, and putting a third ESD to cover up where the slit exposes the motherboard. then fill that up with packing peanuts :D

Lol I had to sell most of my old rig for that price to get rid of my FX 6300. It even came with a 240GB HyperX 3K and a HDD and stuff.

Ah screw it... I just ordered the ASRock H97 anniversary and an i5-4590. The 4590 is like $12 more... why not :D I'm excited!

I played TERA with a constant 30-45fps haha. Emulators are shit, and rely completely on single-core performance, and GTA V isn't bad. I just can't seem to get my full GPU usage for long with this processor
