The Problems With This Forum

Yes, I have been on here before. No, I won't be replying. Yes I'll be reading the replies. looking forward to it to.

 

The community, is just kind of bad to say the least

 

The Community:

So what I've noticed is that the community isn't as accepting as perceived. When ever you post something, and it's a bit short, it gets deemed a shit post. No matter what it is. Likewise if you post a nice long paragraph half the readers say tl;dr. It's a load of shit sometimes. The forum is kind of bias to say the least. If you aren't some sort of either over matured 12-20 year old, or 20-40 year old then you might not fit in. It's weird, a big group of people just hate on anyone who makes a post that's even slightly offtopic in the OFFTOPIC section. I know, nothing too offtopic is allowed, only tech. But not everyone follows that rule. Yet only some people get punished for it and hated on. I don't really know what this forum expects from you to be honest. I'm not going to sit here and right a politically correct essay for you guys. Most of these people are hateful to anything new, and most are the kind of people who think they're always right, simply because they know a few things or use big words. There are some cool people on this forum, but some of you guys are just douche bags. Half of the people don't even read posts before replying, or they just have problems understanding them so they comment some stupid stuff that could've been explained if they read the post. Isn't this forum supposed to be accepting, because alot of people act like there is some sort of category you have to fit into to post on here without getting taunted because people think all you make is shit posts because they don't have the ability to comprehend anything under a paragraph of writing. What is it you guys want? I don't run around trying to please these people, but I've noticed this stuff over the time I've been on this forum, and it makes this place look bad. Then you have those who don't even read the post and reply with a bunch of crap that doesn't even make sense. 

 

The Mass Over Whelm of Political Correctness:

I myself find this a kind of immature thing to care about. It's not the way the statement is put but it's the meaning behind the statement. The amount of times I've gotten posts removed or warning points added for using profanity is way too high. I don't see what it is, it doesn't attract people to the forum if there is no swearing. Some people might like it, but it doesn't really make a difference, other than bringing immature political correctness followers in to it. And the thing is, most people use it, and I don't know how many people got banned or warning points for it, but it's certainly not even. Even linus uses profanity, and I know he censors it, but that doesn't mean he doesn't use them.

 

The Admins:

The admins are just rather weird. No matter how kind you are to them or how hard you work with them they are still kind of biased and crazy about banning and giving out warning points for basically nothing. It's bullshit some of the stuff I've been given warning points for "using too much profanity" and the posts I've gotten taken down. Even when i try to repost them in the most formal way possible with no profanity, it still gets taken down. What's up with that?

As far as communities goes, this forum is by far the "best" one I've seen out there. You think the admins and mods here are too overzealous? You've seen nothing compared to other places...

If you cannot express yourself without the use of profanity, then this forum might not be the place for you indeed.

Hate him? I respect him! It isn't easy to rant about a community in said community. I agree with him to an extent. This thread is a good example of what he means. Some people just reply with random bullshit that makes no sense
