120GB SSD. Crucial BX100's are a good value for performance.

She doesn't need a SSD, she only uses it for the internet... maybe I could do a clean Windows install...

If it's taking ages to load and be usable from boot, it's a hard drive issue. SSD fixes all in that realm.

Clean windows install and SSD are both right on the money.

She only uses it for the internet? Perfect! SSDs make everything that doesn't require extended CPU load a crap ton more responsive and fast.

RAM won't help much unless you only have 2 gigs.

It's not the HDD, it just loads everytime you click something

No it is, the HDD is taking more time to load from, that why you wait when you click. And use the quote button!

Sounds like the HDD's the culprit :P

But in all seriousness, can you post her specs? Might be able to see a bottleneck there. Not just "Celeron," but the numbers after it.

.....then it needs a SSD mate. SSDs are for speeding up access times. so the pause when ever she clicks anything, thats the hard drive taking forever. a cheapo SSD would make a world of diffrence.

That's completely fine, the laptop will perform SO MUCH BETTER with an SSD.

Then the only thing left to possibly cause it is the HDD or something running in the background. Also please please use the quote button when you reply to someone.

Do a virus scan, i'm sure that there is a virus there.

I'd suggest you download malwarebytes and run a scan.

No, done multiple ones with Kaspersky, nothing

If I'd buy a SSD, Kingston V300?

Samsung EVO as a high-performance option.

OCZ Arc-100 is the one I have as a budget option, and it's worked flawlessly.

V300's have stupid firmware problems, Crucial BX100 120GB.

Or even a 120GB 850 Evo?
