Building for a rich friend of mine. He was in town a few weeks ago and said, I am tired of hearing how amazing your PC is, build me something that is baller and better than yours in every way. He wants the ability to OC down the road, but wants it stock for the time being. He will be gaming on a 2560x1600 monitor with a 2560x1440 aux monitor. The 512GB SSD is for windows+a few games, the 256GB is for linux and programming.

I am jelly, but at least I get to play with it for awhile. He emailed me the order confirmation, it's on its way to my house. He's a tech guy perfectly capable of building a PC, but he believes PC's carry deadly diseases and thinks Macs are godlike. He has a 24 core mac server with 1.2 pentabytes of storage at his house that he build LOL.

Specs: Core I7-2600K @ 4.5GHz @ 1.35V, 4x4GB Corsair Vengeance Black 1600MHz CL9, Cooler Master Evo 212, MSI Z77 Mpower Motherboard, Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 Vapor-X @ 1000/1400, Cooler Master HAF 932 Blue Edition w/ 3 Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 120MM fans (2 up top 1 in the bottom) replaced side panel with a window, and rear fan with a Cougar Hydraulic Bearing 140MM, Cooler Master GX 650 80+ Bronze PSU, Samsung DVD-RW, Samsung 840 Pro 128GB SSD, Seagate 750GB SATA III 7200RPM

I don't belive that someone would have 1.2 petabytes of storage at their house and also on a mac system. It would need many systems to do that.

-_-

A h60 is in NO WAY adequate cooling for an extreme series CPU. A 'PC expert' such as yourself should know that.

Also, the name clearly states 'PCbudgetsolutions' stating, and or implying that he will go for economical and sensible builds. That's not saying i'd changes some things, but i know why he chose said items. There's shipping involved. Now, shipping costs money, so do PC's, Water is heavy. and AIO is not worth it, since you're shipping it.

Now, lets consider a better 'mix solution' shall we?!

He goes extreme series, compromises some performance and gains an AIO h60, it burns out, and he's wasted money. OR, it doesn't make his cpu run incredibly hot, and it gets destroyed in shipping because water is heavy.

All true, but to be fair the tiny amount of water isn't heavier than a giant ass heatsink :)

Still, think about it this way, 4 screws mounted to a thin piece of steel is a lot less safe than 4 screws mounting through a mobo which is in turn, mounted to the mobo tray via several mounting points seems safer to me, even if only a tiny bit.
