7970 vs 7950 with fx 8350 for crysis 3

Guest

So ive been looking up some videos on crysis 3 benchmarks with fx 8350 since ive heard that cryengine can utilize all 8 cores the cpus have to offer. So ive found interesting ones. One of them was fx 8350 with 7970 ghz edition (i wont be using ghz edition, but i will overclock the card even more, preferable to not be more than 75 celsius hot, i can pull that out) showing a afterburner recording stable 60 fps most of the times with dips to 50 and 42 on explosions and very intense situations: isn't noticable, other one was with same cpu but with 7950 claiming to have 40-60 FPS in description of the video but on the video itself FPS wasn't showing (if i get the 7950 somehow i will sure overclock it well, it will be a monster). So does someone got experience with those 2 cards? What would you recommend. Thanks for your time guys!

:D

Both are great cards. If the 7970 isn't much cheaper than the 7950, get it. Otherwise, the 7950 will be powerful enough.

Also, get the 8320 instead of the 8350. the 8350 is just a higher binned 8320.

the difference between a 7950 and a 7970 aren't too huge especially for $100 but if you can get a 7970 for $330ish then get it.  An 8320 would be perfect if your trying to save a bit of money but the 8350 will basically give you more overclocking headroom.

7950 and use the extra cash for an ssd or a small amount of illegal drugs (in case your pc catches on fire....damn gremlins)...You can OC the 7950 to reference 7970 speeds.....Went with 8350 vs. 8320 (savings from gpu).....whatever you decide...happy gaming
