  1. Sapphire would be my choice as they are exclusive manufacturers of AMD cards. Always remember though, there are silicon gremlins in even the best of the best....and we all play the lottery when we buy.
  2. Will keep my 7970 and wait for the non-reference cards..
  3. Sapphire....they are exclusive to AMD and are good cards. I have XFX and I believe I scored the last two good 7950s so no point in upgrading right now. If you don't wait for the 9000 series...go with the Sapphire 7970 ghz....good stuff from the red team..happy gaming http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202001
  4. Phobya.....both 140 and 120mm flavors.....saw that you mentioned the 212 evo...the 120mm are PWM and decent, http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14091/fan-908/Phobya_140mm_x_25mm_G-Silent_14_1100rpm_Multioption_Fan_-_Red_LED.html?tl=g36c331s877 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13534/fan-887/Phobya_120mm_x_25mm_Nano-2G_1500rpm_PWM_Fan_-_Red_LED.html?tl=g36c365s936
  5. As others have said....due to R&D, programmers for software, component cost, and paying all the little children 'round the world to put em together....they charge, I believe if they would leave out the useless driver disk and the paper that says "put card in slot...." they could bring the cost down 'bout a hundred dollars U.S. Seriously, everything that goes into the graphics card and the companie's profit margins...stock holders...and so on.....hence the billion dollar card. Gotta love it....

    Yellow fans?

Akasa Viper series are decent...with black frames and yellow blades. I have several Akasa Apache series fans in use and no issues as of yet. They also have the 140mm in the Viper if thats what you need.. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11111/fan-709/Akasa_120mm_x_25mm_Viper_PWM_Fan_w_Hydro_Dynamic_Bearings_AK-FN059.html?tl=g36c365s936 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/17690/fan-1157/Akasa_120140mm_x_25mm_VIPER_R_PWM_Fan_w_Hydro_Dynamic_Bearings_AK-FN073.html?tl=g36c365s936
  7. Have had this one for about a week or so....nothing out of the ordinary yet. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236313
  8. Wait till the 9k series. As long as AMD prices them right, should be interesting. As someone commented, the 7900 series should drop enough to snatch another if you choose that route.
  9. sorry to hear that...or....congratulations....you pick
  10. 7950 and use the extra cash for an ssd or a small amount of illegal drugs (in case your pc catches on fire....damn gremlins)...You can OC the 7950 to reference 7970 speeds.....Went with 8350 vs. 8320 (savings from gpu).....whatever you decide...happy gaming
  11. Don't forget to back up your files.....as everyone else states fresh install equals happy PC...unless the gremlins get after you....enjoy your new MOBO.
  12. Use coffee filters..they are lint free, and isopropyl alcohol.... use filters until it is clean...no residue. This will prep your cpu for TM....
  13. I'll stick with my Akasa Apache 120s and 140s....Fan controller does a good job of keeping them quiet when needed.
