Anyone else here with a 4690k wishing they got a i7

Apparently our processors are only "mainstream" and they dont perform well enough to be classed as "performance"

Nope, love mine and it does all I ask of it, I personally cant see a reason for myself to get an i7, unless photo editing becomes too intensive.

If Intel doesnt think my strong fighter of an i5 is a performance processor, well then Intel can go and suck me dry

Actually, wouldn't the i7 4770k/4790k's and whatever still be mainstream because they are on the Mainstream LGA 1150 socket?

Actually, the difference between a 4770K/4790K and a 4670K/4690K is hyper-threading - nothing else of note really. IIRC someone managed to prove that the 3570K was simply a 3770K with hyper-threading disabled but don't quote me on that.

And extra Cache and i think an extra 100mhz clock speed (apart from the 4690K and 4790K) but apart from that i think that's really it.

You do realise the 4690K does in fact qualify for the "Mainstream" section as everyone and their grandma is running an i5 of some description.

less than a hour in crisis 3,bioshock infinite, hitman, and more. Spent the whole night playing supreme commander and doom with some rocket league in there. Im still glad i got it.
