how does this build look?

S7117
Go to solution Solved by Nena Trinity,

The GPU bottleneck the i7! :D

I say you can go i5 and a 380 or higher, unless you wanna have i7 and swap GPU later...

What cpu? And my question is still unanswered. Does coding take advantage of multiple cpu cores?

Nah not to badly! :) (just do not set settings to high)

You need a better GPU, An I5 4690K is still very good.

So will it work? all i want to do is be able to overclock the CPU and just game and code some. I just mainly wanted to know if the system will work.

Eh yeah, but probably will be looking at 35ish fps on 1080p, depending on the game.

Eh, that's really a budget md gaming option. Should've gone with the 860k. Can I have your old computer if you don't want it then?

well im re using some of the old parts in my new build temporarily.... but if you are willing to pay for the parts..... sure

swap out 4690k for a 4790k if u need the ht for rendering ( will add 100dollar only )

Spent a crap ton on a case, could've gotten a cheaper dvd drive, seriously a 500 gb hard drive, could've gotten a much better ssd, over priced ram, pretty sure there are cheaper z97 4 ram slot boards.

the SSD is only 5% difference from a samsung evo 850 << ive got one and a samsung

The case has a good reason as hes talking about future upgrading and the case will fit the h80i

yes u can have a z97 motherboard for 40bucks also, but they wont overclock proper due to the VRMS ( aswell as less ram support/compatiblity )

500gb-1tb is enough for most gamers ( meant to put in a 1tb if it was 500gb didnt see )

aswell reason on the h80i  h80i is instantly future proof, hyper212 would be a waste of money ive had one and it wasnt close to beeing up to par for proper overclocking

So can other cases that aren't $110 dollars. The difference is $30. Pretty sure that isn't %5.

the case is 80 dollars smartass  and 5% i can confirm and bench it for u right now ( the 5% was in difference of performance ON SSD not on the case pricing.... )

stop beeing a smartass when someone is asking for help especially if u make errors yourself  ( quote case 110 while its 80 )

if you read what u have just quoted u can clearly read the SSD is only 5% difference from a samsung evo 850   << does it say anything about a case 5% pricing difference? NO

Talking about the ssd prices with the %5 and $$$. Also, your case is $110 before rebates. Practically everyone on the site uses before rebate prices. Thought it said the price of the ssd. Also couldn't find any benchmarks of the plus. So heres the ultra plus, which I assume is a newer/better version because of how companies do naming schemes. http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/SanDisk-Ultra-Plus-256GB-vs-Samsung-850-Evo-250GB/1511vs2977
