Maypiaa The $2000 Build, But is it good?

Desertman

Is my build the Maypiaa (sky in Dakota) Good enough for 1440p at 60Fps? I made some improvements with it and the build is here http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9Tw2D3 I switched the processor to an unlocked processor and I know the PSU is overkill so I don't want to hear it. Is my rig good enough for 1440p, 60 Fps? maybe playing something like Gta V or Skyrim at Ultra settings?

go with a 600-700w PSU

also a 970 wont do 1440p at 60fps unless your at low/very low settings

CPU: Intel i5-2400 Mobo: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z RAM: 8GB G.Skill DDR3 1333MHz GPU: Sapphire R9 280x Tri-X Case Corsair Obsidian Series 350D PSU: EVGA 500w 80+ Certified

if you are upgrading to windows 10 then you can buy a windows 7 license for less

i dont play those games but i think ive read some where that a triple titan gets about 120fps on ultra in gta (1440p)

so i dont think a single 970 will do well on ultra

Well, unless you already have it, its a waste of 100+ $$

EDIT- Actually with that 390x and SOC mobo, you leave room for potentially 3 more GPUs, so yeah i guess that 1k Watt PSU is alright

i know you dont wanna hear it, but you could get a nice 650 watt psu from evga for $80 and get a 980

CPU: I7 8086K                              MOBO: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 5   RAM: 16Gb G-Skill 3200mHz

GPU: GTX 1070 FE 8GB            CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX           OS: Windows 10

PSU: EVGA 650G                      SSD: 250GB Samsung Evo                       HDD: 1000GB WD BLUE

I really wouldn't recommend a 970 for 1440p. Ideally you want 970 SLI or a 980ti.

Yeah but with the fast demand for more horse power in video games I don't know if ill keep the single r9 390x and switch it for a titan later in the future, My reason is pretty stupid for an overkill PSU

You know what? I might just do that anyways because a titan is $1k and my graphics card is $430 so if I cut the PSU $100 then I can stretch my budget from $2000 to $2150 and just save my pretty pennies for another few weeks and get a 980Ti

you are right, new cards with more power keep coming out and games require them too.. but all the new feature cards are gonna start needing less and less power.

I am posting this build, if u dont like it u could swap the 2 390 for 2 970 or 2 980

but for 1440p i think it will get the job done. If u dont like the monitor you can change it

i have little knowledge in selecting a monitor, so dont judge me

The site has changed....
