would 400 us dollars be enough for a decent build?

this would be including my os.. i only really plan on playing wow and mobas right now.. so with that would it be able to run those games? or would it be struggling? i dont need a monster pc... just something that can at least handle those

With that kind of budget, you should be able to build something able to max out a game like League of Legends in 1080p. Not sure about WoW.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X            | Cooler: Deepcool AK400      | Motherboard: B550 Elite AX V2  | Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB  |

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB   | GPU: MSI RTX 3060 Ti        | Case: NZXT H440 (Red/Black)    | PSU: EVGA 650W G2             |

No, especially not if you need an OS. Apparently you can find them for cheap but 400 really won't cut it if you want an enjoyable experience. You can run League on basically anything but WoW needs a fair bit of CPU power as well as GPU power. Save up a few hundred more.

I don't have a full build to show you, but I can give you some tips.

Using any spare hard drives can be great way to save cash.  Hard drives will typically only affect load times and not your games performance.

If you want a legitimate Windows copy you can always buy one off of G2A for a significant discount.

At $400 you should look into buy 2nd hand parts as I just cannot recommend anything at such a low price point, if your budget was $550-600 it would make more sense.

not even close. buy a console and call it a day.

Honestly for that much might as well get a console

Because he is going to play MOBAs and WoW on his PS4, please read the OP before replying next time.

Buying a console will not help OP, why would you even bother posting that nonsense then?

For the Moba's yeah, but for WoW you are looking at close to $600 for a decent rig.  WoW really requires a decent quad core CPU to run good, with minimal stuttering and whatnot, and at least a GTX 960/R9 285 for good FPS at max settings.  Here is like the cheapest that I could build.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($176.95 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: ASRock H97M Anniversary Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($64.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($39.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R9 285 2GB TurboDuo Video Card  ($173.98 @ Newegg)
Case: Xion XON-310_BK MicroATX Mid Tower Case  ($22.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($34.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $562.78

A console is not an alternative if OP wants you play PC exclusive games, oh how nice you are for replying, what would have been nice is giving OP a proper suggestion or not saying anything at all as this argument is clogging up this thread.

Actually yes it could be. Also you can get windows key for roughly 12$ off of reddit software swap. Just get like a pre-paid card and then purchase it.

It would play moba's pretty decently, but it would play WoW like shit, especially if the OP ever wanted to do a raid, which is all WoW is anymore.
