My phone is unresponsive

Go to solution Solved by RollinLower,

no

No led usually equals a hardbrick. Sorry should've asked this before anything else.

Hardbrick pretty much means dead phone. You have my condoleances, and may you phone rest in peace.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. I factory reset the phone through the setting and then updated it to lollipop. My brother was playing on it that night and it shut off on him. He is not sure if he ran the battery all the way out or if it just shut off. He thought at the time that the battery died but know he is not sure. He plugged it in to the charger. A couple hours later I went to turn it on and nothing happened. No vibrations, lights, sound, LED's, or screen at all. I tried different chargers and a good battery. It is not recognized by my computer. I took it to best buy and Verizon and they had no idea. Has any body else had this problem? Is there any thing i can do?

i went into the setting and checked for update and the i updated when it said one was available

if you plug it into your PC while in ADB or ODIN, does it still recognise your phone?

Try a hard reset.take out the battery, then replace. Hold down vol up and power untill it vibrates. Use the vol key to scroll down to factory reset. Use power to accept. Once reset is complete, school back to restart. Hit the power button for enter. My mom's s4 had this exact same problem. Left the battery out for 5min, then reset it.

it is not recognized by my computer. if my computer doesn't recognize would Odin.

if you have the right drivers ODIN would still recognise it even when your PC wouldn't.

but apparently your phone is bricked pretty bad, it should still be fixable tough, i just havn't got enough details. :P

i had that with my iphone 5 the problem is the battery is drained all the way and you'll better end up getting a new battery than trying to fix the old one.

the phone has a safety feature that only turns on the phone when its above a certain amount of voltage to not risk data loss. if its under the amount it might flash led or not even do anything because it is so low.

Or the case might be the battery is worn out, battery's have a charge and discharge limit i know samsung s5 is charge 2000 and discharge 2000 which means it can be discharged 2000 times and charged 2000 times, if you reached it the battery is not gonna charge.

i suggest buying a new battery only 8$

Hope i help you

Help me build a Pc :)  :)  :)  :)

Does the led flash in a certain color when plugged into the wall or a pc?

Also, no led may also indicate faulty installed firmware. Tough since you can't access your recovery or ODIN there is really no way to be certain i think..
