Headsets for under $400

SLiKRiC

I'm looking for a headset with a nice deep bass sound. Going to use it for gaming and music mainly. Something sick for movies as well. Any suggestions?

I have used just about every "gaming" headset you can buy and while I prefer the sound stage of sennheiser If it's base you hold dear while still sounding fantastic you are going to go with the mmx300 which is what I am currently using. I normally use my game zero's but took them to a lan party so at home I plugged in my mmx300's and just never plugged my sennies back in.

HE-400s with modmic

Planar magnetic = crazy subbass

This. If "deep" bass is called for, a planar will poop on any of the other suggestions so far.

I assume also that you're referring to the new HE-400s, not the hold HE-400.

Keep in mind, the bass isn't boosted much, just extended. If you want head shakers there are better options.

Don't get me wrong I love that hard bass...I just want too much where it just kind of takes over and kills the sound.

I don't think you can beat platanics if you can afford them in you're price range.

Intel Core i7 7770K | 32 GB's Ram 3000MHz | GTX 1080 Ti | 250GB SSD | 3TB 7400 RPM | Sound Blaster Z | ASUS ROG MG278Q | Razer Blackwidow Chroma | Final Mouse 2015 | Blue Yeti | Seinheiser HD 600's | Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro | Aune T1 MK2

You're saying you DO want bass that takes over the sound? Then the sony MDR-XB500 are where it's at.

Ha, well then I stand by my recommendation of the HE-400s. Philips X2 would also be a good option, as suggested.
