Microsoft has long talked about bringing it's voice assistant Cortana to Android, and a beta version was suppose to be released this month. Luckily the APK file for Cortana has leaked, and you can download and install it today if you wanted to, and I know I definitely am.

 

Do keep in mind that, again, the app is in beta, but Android Authority states that it is stable enough, so I will take their word on it.

Google Drive mirror isn't technically down, just the download is disabled for now because too many are downloading from it.

 

The APK Mirror link still works perfectly fine though.

I've been messing with it for a bit. Kind of sucks, nothing revolutionary. Basically the same as google now. I haven't tested out the reminders and stuff yet.

It would be nice if it was contextually aware like they said it would be. Maybe that's to come. I get it's a beta but I was really hoping it would be.

Also it would be nice to be able to change the default temperature display to Celsius. If you ask Cortana to convert the change the temperature to Celsius, She brings it up in Celsius but it still displays in Fahrenheit on the main page. (There is an option in the settings for the weather card to add units. However the button doesn't appear to do anything for me)

Needs a lot more work but it is in beta so I can't be to harsh.

The actual voice detection is very fast. So much quicker than both Siri and Google now.

Pretty much this. I tried it out, has worse voice recognition than Google Now, and doesn't do anything extra.

 

Windows is in a perpetual state of playing catch up.

I personally never really liked cortana, but the voice recognition is probably the best i have used. It probably comes from what they have been doing with skype and live translation.
