no. single 960 is not worth the money, let alone 2 of them. Do yourself a favour and get an R9 380/280/270 for the same cash or cheaper.

960 is a joke and should be avoided at all costs. If you want Nvidia, get a 970 or 750 Ti - better worth for what you pay.

Paul did a video about this recently on his youtube channel (PaulsHardware) If I remember rightly from that video he didn't reccomend 960 sli just because the peformance increase isnt great. multi GPU is only worth it if there physically isnt another more powerful single card solution on the market as some games dont support SLI so a more powerful single GPU would be better for those games that dont support SLI

R9 280x or 380 is a better choice

960's are for Nvidia fanboys or people who care about power consumption

Not worth it. I suggest just buying a GTX 980 or 390X.

Did you even see the budget?

man what is your idea of budget some people can't just double their budget straight away. For now go with an AMD card and get an nvidia in the future at a higher price point.

http://myanimelist.net/animelist/VLRose I like anime, I'm missing at least 50 off this list.

R9 390, i5 6400, 8GB Ram

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) And no hard drives  ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Both are completely out of his price range.

@Op The 960 is not great value. You'd be better off going for a 280X or 380.

The 750Ti is by no means worth purchasing. It's a pretty garbage card.

The 750ti isn't meant for serious gaming though it was designed for media pc's where power usage, heat and size are important and for it's size and power requirements it packs quite a punch especially the EVGA SC version.

Sure whatever. I think not being able to afford a single powerful GPU is a good reason. If you can't save up for a 970 then getting a 960 now and then another when you can afford it isn't a terrible solution.

People here seem to have a problem generally with the concept of budgets and not being able to afford the best GPU available at the time. They assume that everyone contemplating SLI/CF of mid-range cards are doing it because they think it's better than just getting the 980/290X, rather than being a budgeting necessity.

At launch it was basically Nvidia's version of the 260X, only it cost about twice as much. At no point has it ever been something that made sense to buy.

I had the option of getting a 960. I dismissed it simply because it is not worth the money when you can get a better offer from AMD.

That used to be true until the 280X was discontinued. Now AMD have the rebadged 285 (the 380) which is basically identical to the 960.

The Amd R9 280X is a good example or if the OP is willing to go B grade Newegg as well as other stores still stock the GTX770 for cheaper than the GTX960 that is a much better option :)
