so my engineering teacher has got a new 3D scanner and printer he said you can bring any thing in and scan it but he is wants someone to bring something that will put the scanner to the test so i said i would bring in my graphics card (an asus gtx 970 strix) and scan that and he said yes but i was wondering if its safe or will it kill the card 

p.s i dint know where to post this 

My speakers dont even fit on or under my desk...PA's FTW

yh im going to put it back in the box and get some one to drive me down to school 

Then it should be fine, graphics cards can handle a bit of throwing around, it's not a piece of glass or something :P

Oh, well that sucks D: Well just keep always an eye on it, and maybe mask the box with some black paper or anything that makes it look less intresting :)

Then maybe that is a day to always carry a backpack with you.

Once you have the file (probably a .stl ?)

would you mind posting it here In this thread. Wouldnt mind having an accurate 3d model of a gpu to play around with if I ever decide to 3d model a case. I know the technology department at my school is getting a 3d printer, CNC, and laser cutter over the summer but no 3d scanner:(
