Good or bad idea?

When gaming my hands get very sweaty and often make my keyboard greasy and disgusting (I do clean it afterwards) I had a GENIUS idea (well in my eyes) what about getting one of these:

Or you could use a regular desk fan :P

If that isnt big enough to cover the whole keyboard and you press the wasd buttons too hard, you potentially could flip the keyboard (if you know what I mean) towards the left.

the airflow wont cool your hands anyway cause the keyboard is blocking?

 

just put a fan beside your desk blowing directly on to your keyboard.

Not a good idea, if the cold air blows straight at your arms (even if it's just a little bit) you might get issues with the muscles that get the blown air or even get sick.

The air vents around the keyboard so you would still get some breeze

the k70 doesnt have air vents.... i have one myself. if you mean the spaces between the keycaps and how they are raised then the air still won't reach your hands, only a tiny bit but not all.

You know how with a plane, when its flying the air goes around the wing, and then forms behind it again? That's what I mean.

yes, i know what you meant before. but i still don't understand how it would reach your hands when the shape on the sides aren't made to direct airflow to the top surface of the keyboard... the air would just go upwards.

How would the air reach your hands if there is a keyboard blocking?

That isn't really problem. I had a laptop cooler for a moment (was too small and not that powerful for intetioned use). The thing made cooler parts of laptop really cool, even cold. And there's some warm stuff for 3cm worth of metal and plastic. Keyboard is much lighter and open. Massive cooler like that will have massive effect.

And to that, you will get too cold hands. If you find, get one with speed controller. Or get one of those USB connected table minifans.
