You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

Well.... Your rig could handle either cards. And the 2 cards are neck and neck in performance. So go with whichever card you like honestly...

the cards are similar but the r9 390 has more vram for lower price and perform the same so more vram cheaper what more ?

The r9 390 can't even use 8gb of vram

So 970 for 1080p

and 390 for 1440p and above

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

The 970 isn't as power hungry as the 390.

yeah oke but the new frtc may help with that and also i can't argue with that but who cares about power consumption at no that big of a difference

So 970 for 1080p

and 390 for 1440p and above

Those 8 gigs were made for crossfire, but good luck loading heavy texture packs with the 3.5gb meme card.

The 390 is a better all rounder for 1080p, even.

The 970 has full 4GBs not 3.5GBs....

Yeah, but good luck using the last .5GBs.

This is what the forum is here for. We answer people's questions, not tell them to look it up themselves.

@OP The 390 is better in pretty much all cases. Even at 1080p it's either equal or beating the 970.

I agree, It comes down to this:

390 does have more vram

Both are very similar in price

I prefer 970 so i can have stuff like shadowplay. I think it works great for all desktop recording.

I'm also just a general fan of GeForce...I have a 760 in my pc right now.

So I know you asked for suggestions, but pick whatever the hell you want.

In the end, the people typing in this forum won't be the one using a card. It's your system :/

R9 390. More VRAM, Neck-To-Neck Performance, Most likely cheaper as well.
