Some of the services that start automatically are required for basic Windows operations to function. However, you do not need any startup programs.

A good place ot start for turning services from automatic to manual would be Windows Media Player Networking services, Remote services, and "Print Spooler" for most people.

Because being afraid to modify your startup programs and services shows signs that you shouldn't even be running a PC? Being intimidated by technology holds you back so much, it's astonishing.

the only things in startup processes and services are things that either windows needs, or that I choose when installing a program...

I dont see why you would want to disable any of that if you chose to allow it in the first place?

I installed QuickTime for use in the Adobe Suite. I don't need it to run when I start my Computer. It's a waste of resources sitting in the background. So I turned it off.

I turned off all of my "Remote" services, because I knew for a fact I wouldn't need to access my PC remotely. It's just a security risk waiting to happen.
