It'll be a DirectX12 feature. No other API as of right now will support it.

It's not confirmed if it will even be a thing,

So only Game;s with direct x 12 support will work with it?

If DX12 does support VRAM stacking, yes it will only work in DX12 games.

It is theoretically possible for games to be programmed to stack VRAM. It will only work on games that are specifically programmed with that capability. It's not like as soon as DX12 comes, you just download the latest driver and suddenly VRAM will stack universally, which is why I wish everyone would shut up about "oh but DX12 will allow VRAM stacking" as if it's a practical consideration when planning your system. Even when DX12 is here, nothing will change with any current or upcoming games, or any games that release shortly after DX12. It will be at minimum a year before any meaningful adoption of this if we even see it at all, and again it still won't help any current games.

I agree, everyone saw that it "may" support it, and now everyone automatically thinks it's going to the second it launches.   Really getting old, especially since we have no idea how it will work, or if it will even work properly, or when it will even happen if it does.
