I have but I don't see why something so similar is so much more expensive

 

not to mention the quality control on these things is probably a lot higher, they have higher quality parts, higher quality aesthetic, higher quality features, software..

 

in fact, i think that this product may be more expensive because it is better.  imagine that!

What's so special about the Asus ROG boards compared to the others?

Let's take these as an example: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO Z97 vs. Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI?

What's the dif?

Nothing really, they are good boards but are just overpriced. They have some extra features, but any other Z97 board will do tbh

look at the spec sheet, there are hundreds of differences

its not only branding, but also a ton of extra features they add to make it more "gaming" oriented
