Fair or Double Standards?

So this Florida State athlete was charged with Battery and kicked off of his football team because of this bar fight in which he punched a woman. Recently the video leaked and I have seen people arguing for both sides with a large majority favouring the woman....

 

You can take a look for yourself:

 

Is this a situation of double standards or is this fair for only him to be charges?

Double standards. She pushes him, screams in his face, and then PUNCHES HIM IN THE FACE after he pushes her away. When he then retaliates, and punches her in the face then leaves he gets punished? No. That's complete bullshit. This is the perfect example of fucking FEMALE PRIVILEGE, talk about male privilege all you want, but this shit is actually real and tangible. They may have the strength to start the fight, but in the end if they don't have the strength to end it, then they shouldn't start it in the first place.

If a woman hit me i'd react as deemed necessary. Be it a backhander, or a full on punch. If a woman feels she's strong enough to attack a man, she should expect to get a response in kind.

Anyways, I'm convinced right now that when we look closer at the statistics, men might actually have it worse than women in America. I'm not talking about soundbites where you list so and so percentage of people have been raped, etc. We have to go deeper than that. They were trying to get to the same place and he was trying to squeeze in next to her but she continues to deny him....

Haven't watched the video, but just thought I'd correct something you've said.

No where in law (in any modern country) does it say that you can retaliate against someone who has wronged you. Self Defense is SPECIFICALLY for protecting yourself (and a few other things/people, but that's besides the point) from harm/death, it does not grant you permission to retaliate. It isn't a "they hit me and walked away so I went after them and hit them back", it's a "they kept coming after me and I had to hit them for my own protection".

Now jokes aside, as Blade said it probably wasnt exactly self defense. Judging from the video Id say double standard but there might be more to it which isnt visible in the video.

She punched him first. Not his fault he's twice as strong as her. I hate that double standard because women can AND WILL abuse the almighty shit out of it. I cannot tell you the amount of times I've seen this shit first hand. Women openly punching or hitting a guy multiple times and when he even cocks his arm back threateningly he's suddenly the son of Lucifer. 

 

If women want to be equal socially then they must learn if you punch you will be punched back.

Do watch though it was reasonably for him to think she wouldn't stop hitting him and he was in a crowded area without an easy way out, you can easily feel threatened enough to respond if you ask me. In fact the only reason why you wouldn't is because of the stereotypical "don't hit a woman"

 

Overall he pushed his way through a crowded bar, big deal. Doesn't looks intentional and she intentionally takes it as an insult when it was not, she raises his hand against him and he first tries to just contain her holding her hand and pushing back and then she punches him. I say he has plenty of reason to hit back, she didn't beat hear up and immediately backs off and leaves which was clearly his intention.

 

Sadly no judge or jury will let this go and he will pay as if it was a crime, because of the aforementioned reasons but I say it looks like a pretty legitimate case of self defense here.
