How many watts i need?

i7 4790k stock cooler no OC

Z97 gigabyte gaming 3

Hyperx Fury SSD 240GB

Seagate 2TB HDD

EVGA 780Ti K|NGP|N 1249 Core 1950 Memory

Currently sitting on a Tt TR2 700W Psu

 

Current issue , if I take the voltage above 1.187 on precision it will run for like 5 min and shutdonw without getting to high temps on the GPU or CPU.

500W-550W for this system. If you are having issues there may be something wrong with your PSU.

@WereCat i made a 600W tr2 Tt blow up with 1.171v on the card so.. i dont think 500w is enough or Tt psu's are not that good (Tr2 models are 80+ bronze )

Of course. If you have crappy PSU it doesent matter how much wattage you got.

500W is actualy enough even if you OC a lot.

Just because PSU is Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum doesent mean it is good.. that is just efficiency rating and it doesent say anything about quality of the components. It is actualy fairly easy to make really bad but very efficient PSU.

Anything from Seasonic or SuperFlower

 

From EVGA the G2 line is really good and also most Antec and be quiet! PSUs are decent and most XFX also.

TR2s are absolutely awful.
