Skyrim in Ultrawide?

paps511

Hey,.

Just got my LG 34" ultra wide, but I am wondering if I can play skyrim in 21:9? I see an option for 2560 x 1440, but no 3440 x 1440 or even 2560 x 1080.

Anyone have any experience with running 21:9 in skyrim?

I saw a reddit post, but the solution did not work for me, nor the one on the steam page...

Flawless widescreen is love, flawless widescreen is life. To elaborate more, flawless widescreen fixes 99% of 21:9 aspect problems in games that don't natively support it and does it with basically zero effort. It's been an amazing tool since I got my ultra wide.

Yeah I do have one, flawless widescreen is a beautiful thing. The guy who works on it is a saint. The app that he has actually let me play evil within at 2560x1080p no letter box, and allowed fov adjustment about 2 days after the game came out. It took the devs 3 weeks just to add leterbox removal.

I'm waiting until they come up with 144hz 1440p IPS ultrawide with VRR that's "affordable". <3

That acer predator was supposed to be exactly that with 3440x1440p and gsync. (not affordable) however just recently it's said to only be 75hz. That absolutely killed it for me because the price point remains $1300. Oh well, better luck next year lol

Okay so I go that app, and installed the plugins for the various games I have, but how do I make it work? It still only lets me go to 2560 x 1440, not 3440 x 1440

It does not go by resolution.... it goes by aspect ratio... It's either fix activated or not.

To get the res you want just edit the .ini file in your skyrim folder.  it is a really simple thing to do.

Mine is checked but it doesn't offer any ultra wide options..

I'll try editing the ini

You might have to do that for skyrim and fallout. I forgot about that. But for 99% of games you just hit fix it, and it will.

  • 1 year later...

I have not gotten Flawless Widescreen to work it is a piece of garbage software that works when it feels like it... Use the INI files  but it still won't sort out the UI.

I really don't get how Bethesda screwed up so badly both with Skyrim and Fallout 4 as Oblivion a 10 year old game this year has support for 2560 x 1080 21:9 Aspect ratio
