Hey everyone,

I just got my new graphics card. It has rubber caps on the SLI Pins and inside the DP/HDMI ports on the back side. I think it is quite convenient to keep the caps inside the ports / on the SLI bridge to protect it from dirt/dust. I'm just wondering if its safe to not remove those -  escpecially the SLI bridge one - I have no idea how temperature resistant that rubber is. What do you think is it safe to keep the cap on the SLI bridge inside the rear ports or not?

Yes it's safe.

There won't be any heat going through parts that aren't being used, and even if there were, it would be a very small amount.

I'd say its fairly safe. I would think that if the GPU got hot enough to melt those, you would have other parts on the GPU itself that would be melting as well.

It should be no problem, as those caps are non conductive.

Main reason anyone would remove them is if they are using the ports/ dont like the aesthetic of having them on
