first off, yes i am planning to put a new head unit in my truck so i can just use an MP3 player...moving on...

in short what i want to do is throw a ton of songs in  to a list and have a program burn them to a cd, after one fills up i put in a new one and it keeps going. and the songs be randomized. anyone know of such a program?

I think iTunes can do this, but I'm not sure.

load said compact disc in your disc burner and use the advanced capabilities of your Pentium 4 processor to copy and paste the music files on to the disc, and wait for your 80gb IDE HDD to transfer what is most likely a great mix of Greenday, Sum 41, and All Time Low, to your compact disc, or "CD" at a blazing fast 50kbp/s.

The trololols hehehe

Really, though, that's my best answer. It shouldn't be too slow, assuming you're working with modern equipment ;)

Oh I remember doing that years ago, I think it was either Nero or CloneDVD I used back then. I'm pretty sure most of the DVD burning software you will find should have that feature.

Ok heres what you do... get one of those nifty FM transmitters and just stream the music from your phone / ipod to your radio. No hassle with burning and carrying around CDs.

nero

but your better option is to put a new stereo in your truck with a input

then just get a cheap mp3 player with tons of space and plug that into the stereo

So if it's a new head unit, like 99% of them on the market support MP3 play back from USB devices, iPods & memory sticks being 2 of the most common ones supported. If it has this functionality why burn CD's and not just use a memory stick? a cheap 16GB one will hold something like 3000+ songs at 128kbps...

I remember trying to burn discs with Windows Media Player, I specifically chose the feature to make the discs compatible with radios and such. Hours later, 20 discs burned. Put a disc in my car radio. Format was not suppourted. Haven't used Media Player since.

128 Kbit? He wants to listen to the music, and not audible crap. MP3 320 Kbit would be my minimum (I rather use FLAC). USB storage is much more convenient than burning thousands of discs.

Tbh, I'm also against using 128kbs, but going for 320kbs without knowing how good quality speakers are is just bad advice. With decent speakers 192 or 256 even is more suitable. And when you are using car speakers, how often you are for quality? If you want quality, get headphones.
