How many years till we get 980 ti like graphics performance in laptop ?

bydus

Like the title says, current 980m is pretty damn fast about 10fps slower than stock 970, makes me wonder if its a matter of a year or two ?

If I had to guess probably when they finally push to a 14-16 nm manufacturing process. The problem right now a 980ti pulls 300watt ish. The entire laptop with a 980m which ive read is more efficient than the desktop gpus in terms of performance per watt only runs on like 150-170 watts. Imagine cutting your battery life down to 1/3-1/2 and having to have a power brick 2, 3, or even 4 times the size. My best guess is minimum 3 years to get close and that's only going to be in a mobile SLI solution at that point.
