PC build for neighbor, $200 budget.

My neighbor needs a new computer, so I offered to build one. I picked out the parts, so I want to know what you guys think.

AMD Seperon 2650, 1.45Ghz

4Gb Kingston Value Ram, DDR3-1600

Seagte 1tb drive

430w EVGA PSU 80+

Asus AM1I-A

Sentey Slim ITX case.

What do you think?

You would be better off to go with used parts. For $200 you can get a LOT better build if you will pick used parts.

I think you could get a 500 GB HDD and use the money for a better CPU, maybe even get a slightly cheaper PSU.

My neighbor only uses her computer for web surfing, so I'm not too worried about getting the most performance.

And yet the semprom will be noticeably slower than an A4 or pentium even with the lightest of tasks.

yes, much quicker

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

It's cheaper to go on craigslist, pick up a PC for $50, clean it up, install an SSD, and make sure the OS is current.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

All right, Here are some updates specs.

AMD Athlon 5350

4Gb Kingston Value Ram, DDR3-1600

Kingston Digital 120gb SSD

430w EVGA PSU 80+

Asus AM1I-A

Sentey Slim ITX case.

It's a little over budget, but if I buy a used case or something it should be good.

Much much better. The athlon will be 3 or 4 times faster than the sempron on average. The SSD is also a nice touch, just be sure to ask her whether the size is enough.
