Why would you, wouldn't you love to have his job get the latest and greatest tech before anyone else, if you "sold out" your just gonna lose all meaning in life, it's better to keep yourself busy rather than just swimming in piles of money. Also laying off that many workers would be horrible.

 

EDIT: pretty sure it's calculating the net worth of youtube...

no... it's just numbers the website is worth by traffic it gets, the more traffic the more money.
