Gaming PC Build $750-$1000

G.Skill makes amazing RAM, as Linus has said before. SLI/Crossfire is a feature very few people use. And the Define S is an $80 case that's amazing :D

thanks, ill look into it. The OP said they wanted to SLI/Crossfire. So I just made sure it was compatible.

Heyyo,

Yea, my ram choice was kinda meh, but it is probably the cheapest ram with a good name behind it.

I cant really vouch for G. Skill either so I just ended up picking the cheaper.

That motherboard is Micro ATX, doesn't support SLI, and doesn't have all of the extra heat spreaders on it.

My case choices change a lot, I haven't really found one at a great price that I'm head over heels for.

I should probably really look into finding a $60-$80 one that I can start recommending for every build. :P

G.Skill is easily the best bang-for-your-buck brand for RAM. Same goes for ASRock and motherboards.

Indeed! If I didn't already own my love and hate relationship NZXT Phantom 530? I'd totally have that Fractal Design Define S. It's the perfect example of a manufacturer that listens to their crowd. Pretty much all the changes people wanted in the Define R5 is what the Define S is... and wow is it a beautiful package! :)

DOH! Totally didn't notice that... good catch lol. I'll have to look for a different motherboard hehe.

Ok fixed the motherboard. :P

A little higher in price but the motherboard is a nice little upgrade... well, as long as you don't plan on using those PCI-E SSD add in cards essentially. If you wanted to? I'd be a red build to go with a Gigabyte red mobo with more PCI-E x1 slots:P

Should I get a AMD CPU and a AMD GPU OR Intel CPU and a NVIDIA GPU? Trying to use little money, but still want something powerful that also supports having multiple GPUs.

EDIT: I am going to use Intel/AMD.

This would be a pretty killer $750 build:

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Tri-X OC Video Card  ($263.98 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($64.99 @ Micro Center)
Case Fan: NZXT FN-140RB 62.5 CFM 140mm  Fan  ($6.98 @ OutletPC)
Case Fan: NZXT FN-140RB 62.5 CFM 140mm  Fan  ($6.98 @ OutletPC)

since this is my first pc build EVER, i'm just going to get one Radeon R9 280. because 1: i only have a 500W PSU, 2: It's cheaper to just have one, and 3: I can always upgrade my PSU and add a GPU.

btw, i'm probably gonna upgrade my PSU anyway, because I want something more powerful, that is also is compatible with Corsair Link. probably the RM650 or RM750.

lolz
