Which ones are the best in thermal conductivity? 

Should i keep a look out for gold/silver/bronze based thermal paste?

There is a really good brand called TUNIQ, and their thermal paste is excellent for the money.

its old and doesnt perform as well as these three

 

the ones that REALLY perform well are liquid metal pastes, but those are really dangerous

I heard if you have to remove IC diamond that it tends to leave lots of scratches in your heatsink/cpu, dunno how true it is, but I assume that is bad for thermal transfer.  I would go for MX-4.

 

It's high diamond content so it will scratch it, nothing that should affect it heavily over the long term but not exactly good if you remount your coolers a lot:

How about CM's bronze based thermal paste? Im using that currently on my CPU and the thermal paste that comes with my 212x on my GPU (290x) which has dropped my GPU load tempts by 13c LOL

Gelid GC-Extreme. It usually top all other pastes.

 

If you want to go nuts check out the Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut but I'm not sure if its available for purchase.

Apparently it's not very good? Not from my own experience. I still have a tube I bought from RadioShack for $9 in 2013. Does a phenomenal job for me, and so far I've gotten about 7 applications out of it. You can pay double for IC Diamond, but I don't know if it's worth it. That being said, I'm only basing it solely on my personal experience.

 

Idle temps on my CPU (FX-6300 on a Hyper 212 in Push-Pull with two stock fans) is about 23c, and the chip is OC'd to 4.3ghz. Load temps are up to 55c from what I've seen. Mind you, this is on a humid, hot Summer day in my bedroom.

With my i5 4440 being cooled by a Siedon 120V (stock fan, vented into case because Antec are idiots when it comes to making cases) and without the IHS removed I was able to get it idling at ambient, with only 26oC above being the maximum so its a good option. I've also had experience with MX-4 and it was quite good as well, and it spread far easier than the Z9 thermal paste I bought after it (my local computer shop switches to another brand once the previous sock is sold out), which asks you to use a plastic spreader to apply the thermal paste-which TBH isn't that good a method.

If you want a decent thermal grease and a very large tube (its not the best, but it is much better than the TMI used by Intel), then Chemtools R001 Heatsink Compound is a good choice. 150g for $20 and it performs excellently on my P5Q Deluxe North&Southbridge, plus my Geforce 6200 and GTX 970 (temps went down a few degrees). Plus my i5 is a heck of a lot cooler as well.
