Hey guys,

 

i want to change my mobo and my cpu right now i have very old computer -,- yeah i already change my GPU , PSU , and my Memory

 

spec : Mobo : pcp+ baby ultra raptor ( wtf this mobo is very2 old , so dont blame )

         : GPU : MSI GTX 660 Twin frozr 2gb

         :  PSU :thermaltake 450 watt

        : Memory : 2x2gb Team elite

        : cpu : AMD Athlon II x2 240processor ( 2 cpus ) , 2.8GHz

Don't bother upgrading your motherboard. Your best bet on that budget is to get a Phenom II, because it will also fit AM3 motherboards and be significantly better than the Athlon you have right now, but you might have trouble still finding those. If not that, you're going to have to change both your motherboard and your CPU, and it's entirely up to you whether you want to stay with AMD or go to Intel with that, though chances are you're better off with Intel, I'm sad to have to say.

A88XM-Plus is a WAAAAAAAAY better MOBO for 860K compared to @Minibois one. 

 

source: Tested a 3+2VRM mobo without heatsink, switched to my A88XM-Plus and gained OC stability and removed VRM throttling.

 

 

Anyways, i3 is a cool option

I think the OP wants something that'll be powerful right from the start. a low tier i3 doesn't do much in terms of performance. The only thing he'd get out of it would be upgradability.

yes, but it's also quite slow... :(

I would much rather have a core i3 as it performs better in just about anything, especialy gaming.

 

OP that 3.6ghz intel i3 is your best option really...it's a dual core but it has hyper-threading so it can handle 4 threads on the fly and it does perform quite a bit better than anything AMD has on the market right now...unless we are talking about workstation here and no gaming involved.

yes, but it's also quite slow... :(

I would much rather have a core i3 as it performs better in just about anything, especialy gaming.

 

OP that 3.6ghz intel i3 is your best option really...it's a dual core but it has hyper-threading so it can handle 4 threads on the fly and it does perform quite a bit better than anything AMD has on the market right now...unless we are talking about workstation here and no gaming involved.
