I would swap the 960 for a R9 290 if you can,

that depends on prices

Or go for a locked i5 and a R9 390/GTX970 ( you're not going to do much oc'ing with that cooler anyways )

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

Nice rig, should work perfectly. You might be able to get the processor used, that might save you a couple of bucks which I would invest in an SSD. A small where you install Windows and you programs on but not store your files on shouldn't be that expensive and will give a major speed boost.

If I were you, I would get a locked i5 with an h81 motherboard and with the saved money get a much better gpu like a gtx 970.

Isn't it kind of a waste to put a K processor on a H81 motherboard? In terms of overclocking.

(Serious question)

Hence why I said get a locked i5. A locked i5 with an h81 is much cheaper than an unlocked i5 and z97 board ( I believe you save about 100$). With the saved money you can get a much better gpu.

u wot... do you see what people around the forums have been able to do with the 212 EVO, hell I even have one myself running cool as could be at 4.3ghz

My bad, didn't see the "locked i5" part. Thoug I disagree that you can't OC with a cheap aircooler.

I would go with an EVO in stead of a TX3 if it fits in the case.

EDIT: 212 EVO won't fit, max xpu cooler height is 150mm

That's the 212 evo,

he wants a TX3, either spend more on a hyper 212 or get a locked i5 and a better gpu and skip the cooler ( although getting a cooler would be good for noise ).
