So I was having to issues with 3.5 framework and I figured I'd give microsoft a ring and see if they would help me out. What a terrible idea this was. So the person I talked too was in an indian call center, it was loud and I could barely hear with all the background noise. Next he proceed to tell me that 3.5 framework was critical even though its a little dated from 2008.So I asked if I could find a solution and the first thing he tried to get my to do was buy a 99 dollar service program. And kept telling me this was critical etc.. I pretty much said no, and I went off googling and eventually I fixed the issue myself. What a waste of time. Tao be honest I should have expected microsoft to be outsourced but seriously.. Pushing me to buy a 99 dollar service? And coming up with bs. It's just unfortunate for people who don't have the technical know how. But oh well.

What number did you call? sounds like you found one of the scam numbers by mistake. They appear as the first result in search engines and there was a big thing about it not too long ago :S

^this. I highly doubt that you actually called the real microsoft support coz usually you'd have to go through some hoop with the automated system before being able to speak to a real person.

I once delt with microsoft and spoke to 17 different techs and 4 customer support agents over 1 week totally 16 hours of calls. Their support is shit, then again this was in 2009

an additional 4 hung up cause they couldnt fix it

I have had an excellent experience with microsoft customer support back when vista was just launched (it was 2007 i think). I spent close to 7 hours straight on a single phone call from one of their tech support engineer from Singapore. He was super helpful and patient enough dealing with the problem though.

Trust me, it was some scam caller. I picked up the phone, and it was an Indian dude calling me about something about my PC (like they would know what's wrong with my PC) and in the middle of his "talk", i hung up right on him.

So Microsoft needs to be notified on the scam going on.

But it's India. They do this stuff all the time.

I called microsoft, it wasn't a scam, in fact they do have many packages, but the guy didn't know what was wrong with my system and thought it was some sort of critical security breach. As in Microsoft sells the business support packages I also got a case number from them as a forgot to mention.
