That CPU is great, well you can get i7-4790K instead (better overall) but if you're looking more to gaming then i5-4690K has better value compared with i7-4790K.

If you don't do editing a lot then I'd suggest i5-4690K. Because not all games uses hyper-threading, the i7's hyper-threading helps you more if you're like video editing and such, for game, not a big different.

I am guessing that you are not SUPER RICH (like swimming in money, etc. LOL). So you have put most of your budget in the 980 Ti so get the i5-4690k. Get the i7 if you are regularly doing content creations.

Following up on what other people have been saying here, the 4690K is probably the best option if you only plan on gaming. For certain applications you might want a bit more CPU power, but from my experience on with it, it's a really solid CPU for most tasks.

4690k OC's like a beast. great for Games.  if you want more power go I7-4790k..its more Costly but performs well. its not "as good" price-Performance wise but I still feel it gives a good return on the Diminishing returns when talking about hardware costs. 

 

if you have a Money tree in your backyard, and you are looking for top of the top chip for content Creation and a good "do all" Chip with no cost Constraints, then get a 5960x and DDR4.

4690K or 4790K. I own 4790k and it works great. You can do more with both than just game.
