ASUS Maximus VII HERO vs Gigabyte ga-z97x-gaming GT

Hi guys thanks for reading this :D

I can't decide on the MOBO for my new gaming build. The CPU is a i7-4790k, i will OC it. Also a GTX 970 from gigabyte. I'm torn between the two mobos in the title.

PROS FOR ASUS:

-looks

-m.2

-onboard sound

-intel NIC

PROS FOR GB:

-more usb 3.0

-more PCIe

-DAC USB ports

Which one would you recommend and why? Thank you :D

Maximus VII Hero user here, and If I could do it all again, I'd probably go with it again. It's OC'd me amazingly, powers my sound setup very well and the M.2 always helps :)

Depends on what you want to do with it.

If you want to use a M.2 SSD, then go with the Asus. Do you want to use an USB DAC, go with the gigabyte.

I would probably go with the Asus because its cheaper and its good enough. The Gigabyte board is in a highewr tier of motherboards alltogther, but i'm not sure if it's worth the extra money. ;)

who cares...

Look for what you want to do with it. Do you want to do an absolute maximum overclock on your CPU? -> get the one with the better power delivery and the most power phases.

If there is nothing that sets them apart for you personally in terms of features, go with the one you like better. Gigiabyte and Asus are both good brands. ;)

who cares...
